From
2002 until 2004 I lived in Dhaka, Bangladesh and was
able to travel quite a bit around the region. I visited
Bhutan in Feb. of 2004 stopping at Thimpu, Paro and a
few other places. It was a pretty expensive trip, but
we did get a discount on the visa and only had to pay
$150 usd per day. Some tour companies charge over $250
usd, per day, to visit Bhutan.
I
made it over to Myanmar A.K.A Burma, in summer of 2003. It
was an amazing trip, and one of the friendliest places that
I have ever been. The Bagan ruins are incredible and pretty
untouched. Bagan was a very peaceful area and there were hardly
any tourists when we were there. We did have a problem with
getting money though, since credit cards are not accepted anywhere
in the country, but everything worked out in the end.
